Kaptein Morf

APP REDESIGN

Kaptein Morf is a learning app that consists of 40 sessions. The sessions focus on derivation and composition in Norwegian. The idea is for children to acquire the meaning and spelling of derivations and compositions by working with them in various linguistic and visual contexts. The aim for this project is to evolve from individual learning in a single-player context, to facilitate for 1) whole class teaching and 2) collaboration between students

THE DISCOVERY

DEFINING CHALLENGES

Transitioning from single-player mode to more advanced modes, such as collaborative mode, poses several significant challenges. It is essential to carefully define and structure these challenges in order to successfully implement collaborative features.

Some of the challenges that were identified were:

- Communication and Synchronization:
- Player Roles and Interactions
- Technical Infrastructure
- Gameplay Balancing
- Social Dynamics and Player Engagement

USER JOURNEY

Creating user journeys have been essential for the development of this project, as it has helped us understand the user needs, identify challenges and optimize the product to provide an engaging and seamless collaborative gameplay experience.

DESIGN PROBLEM

The current app layout is not easily scannable and does not prioritize the most important content for user decision making.
